According to India’s National Center for Seismology, the quake was 12 miles (7.5 miles), about 140 miles (87 miles) from Aizawl in northeastern India.

It was heard in the coastal city of Chittagong in Bangladesh and far from the eastern Indian city of Kolkata, about 451 miles from the center near the Aizawl, according to eyewitness accounts sent to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center’s (EMSC) . ) page and on Twitter.

Earthquakes have been reported in all parts of northeastern India and other major cities in Bangladesh, according to the EMSC and the Indian Earthquake Control Agency.
