Auburn QB Bo Nix claims Alabama gets preferential calls from officials: ‘Something is different’

Iron Bowl Week has arrived, and the garbage issue is already running like a toilet paper at Toomer’s Corner.

Auburn quarterback Bo Nix made waves in the race on Monday after appearing on “The Next Round” and said Alabama was receiving calls from officials. He made the remarks at a meeting on Saturday between Crimson Tide II and No. 21 Arkansas, incl 40-yard touchdown hosted by Jameson Williams which was reviewed by the authorities and eventually won 42-35 in Alabama.

Nix saw the game at his parents’ home after missing out on Auburn 21-17 losses in South Carolina after undergoing knee surgery (he will not be available for Saturday’s Iron Bowl, either). Regardless, he said that “the conflicting calls in the game (raised) some questions, of course, I think unless you are an Alabama fan.”

The audience then gave Nix the opportunity to comment on what he said. The young signature singer did not return to his original words, saying, “I mean, legitimately, I think you can watch the game and everyone without prejudice would think that something is different. That’s what it is.”

MORE: SEC executives also sang another song in Auburn win vs. Georgia State

Say this to Nix: She’s not afraid to mix things up, especially on competition week. That said, he ignored the claim that Auburn benefited from a number of suspicious calls last year, including two in 2021. The first came against Arkansas in 2020, when officials said Nix shot the ball, even going backwards. This allowed the Tigers to start overcoming the game’s goal when time ran out against the Razorbacks, which made the SEC sound better.

Auburn has also benefited from phones this year. The first one got there – No. 10 Penn State, when the authorities wrongly removed the ground and forced the Nittany Lions to strike three times. Penn State eventually won 28-20. Officials who played the Georgia State game also confirmed that the Auburn receiver had seized it, even though it hit the ground running. This made the Tigers an easy part of what was to be a game-winning victory over 34-24.
