Angela Merkel was campaigning on Friday, two days before the German general election.
The 67-year-old retires after nearly 16 years as German chancellor, but is still campaigning for his right-wing party on the right hand side of the Christian Democratic Union.
On Friday, he made a surprise visit to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, where he visited a bird sanctuary in downtown Marlow.
There, carrying a bird feeder, he was photographed with beautiful Australian lorikeets.
Things … quickly went south.
After the birds pierced his hands, Merkel uttered a photograph taken by Georg Wendt, a photographer for the DPA news agency.
Incredible images soon spread.
People found the images to be relevant right away.
And many comparisons were made …
Enjoy your retirement, chancellor, and thank you for this last gift out.
